Thank you for contacting **** regarding your store inquiry. We are sorry to hear about your most recent purchase.
Ich is something that is very common and always present in saltwater or freshwater tanks, as well as the fish itself. It is known that stress is the main cause of Ich. Fish can get stressed as a result of many different things. However, the most common reason that Ich shows up is when a new fish is added to an existing tank of fish. It is a common reoccurrence that when a new fish is added to a tank, within a few days, not only does the new fish develop Ich, but several other fish do as well.
Fish purchased at any pet store stores will always encounter or already have Ich. Meaning, that it is immune system was strong enough from getting infected and when it was introduced to a new environment it got stressed allowing it to be infected, thus infecting your other fish.
Since Ich is a natural thing that happens when purchasing fish **** guarantee states that we will not refund or replace established aquatic life that have been injured or become ill as a result of introducing new fish and we do not guarantee saltwater fish. However, I will forward your concerns to the upper management team at the store and will ensure that we take the necessary steps to ensure that all our fish are being better taken care of and that our associate are better educated to inform our customer of possible risks when introducing new fish to a home tank. We value you as a customer and appreciate you taking the time to inform us when improvements need to be made so we have the opportunity to address your concerns and to be better prepared to meet your expectations in the future.
Please make sure in the future when buying new fish in any pet store that you put all new fishes in a quarantine tank for one to two weeks. Good quality water and minimal stress helps healthy fish ward off Ich and other infestations without the use of medications. Using the quarantine tank method will make sure you will not introduce unwanted invaders in your tank.
Thank you for your continued patronage. Please contact us again if you need any further assistance. :rant2:

I love the part where it says that ich is always present in saltwater aquariums.

I was at a LFS today and all the fish were infected with ich.

I only buy food for my pets and feeder goldfish for fishing bait.
