I'm hoping to diagnose what happened to this guy. 2 days ago he was very active and eating well. Yesterday he took on a grayish-blackish appearance and swam sideways and upside down. Tonight I felt so bad as he was lying on his side and not moving that I removed him. He is no longer with me. Upon a close inspection he also had bright gold splotches under his gills. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm worried about my other fish although they all appear fine and healthy.
