I have a whipser 20 for my 15 gallon tank and I have the flow turned up about 3/4 of the way. My Raspboras and Cories seem to be swimming into the top current it creates and letting the current push them away. Are they doing this for any reason, or just to be cute ;) ?

A lot of fish seem to do this for fun, but if they are constantly being battered around, I would say slow it down. My betta, for example, hates current but loves bubbles. Then again, I've had bettas that love current and hate bubbles.

Or it could be part of an insidious plan to lodge a small stone in the impeller that will result in a dirty tank, and ultimately the fishes' freedom.

I think I've heard about this same plot somewhere else. ;)

Mantis737,

Is there any place in the aquarium where they can find some quiet water? Are they surfing by choice, or just because that's the only way they can avoid getting banged around inside the tank?

They purposely run up into the very top corner to get pushed away. The rest of the tank is calm

Sounds like surfing to me, but how long have you had the Whisper 20?

I just got the whisper with my tank. I have only had it set up for about a month
