Greetings!
Was hoping someone could help me identify this plant - the one on the right is in question. Any advice with the flowering? Can this be pruned and planted? Should it be pruned? Are the seeds a problem?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi
I'm not 100%sure but I know its some kind of Aponogeton. The flowers will turn into seeds if pollinated. Which is likely due to the fact that you have many runners over the water level. They do stick-up out of the water don't they? The seeds go into a mini plantlet state almost immediately. What you will see is the white flowers turn into tiny plant like green "pre-plants" then swell and fall off. You can then let them float and grow. Some will sink immediately, and will also grow. I have about 20+ 2 1/2 in. plants that grew from those exact white flowers.

Aponogeton ulvaceus by the leaves.

Same question as guppydude. Is there a lid or did you push the flowers underwater?

Thanks for the replies - yes they do stick up out of the water and are growing just as you see them in the pic. I've not pushed them down or anything.

Thanks for asking this Shovelhead, and providing the picture. I have one of those, could never figure out what it was, just shrugged and decided to enjoy it.Now that I have the name I can find out more about it. My photo and photo-posting skills are teh suxxor, as the kids say. Or used to say anyway...I'm probably out of date by now with that too. :)

On a side note if you don't mind.....

what is the plant with the crinkely fronds next to it? kind of interesting looking.

The one on the right with the flowers is A. ulvaceus.
I believe the one on the left is Vallisneria americana (gigantea).

oldshovelhead, what size is you tank? I would love to get some Aponogeton but my tanks are too small :(

:: runs away from XanAvaloni's fearsome cane ::

Yes Nymsley, correct and the Vallis Gigantia(ea).
Thanks for the comments!
This is a 75g 48" tank. Former home to a shoal of Pygo Natts. Last two were about 3 yrs old and 11" when they found a new happy home. Time for something different so the plants are new and a nice albino pleco and couple other fish. Can't decide to go with cichlids or not. Any suggestions?
