Ideas to get better lighting

Hey,

So I have a 55 gallon rectangular tank. So far I have a few plants but I don't believe they are getting enough light. Does anyone have any inexpensive ideas to get my plants more light? Could adding seperate lamps be a solution?

What lights are you running now?

What symptoms are the plants showing? (Nevermind this one, no idea why you spread information across two threads o.0 ...) Do you fertilize?
