Tank set up: 10 gallon planted tank filtered by a Tom's mini rapids canister filter with 8 neon tetras and 1 Betta "Emerald". The tank is heated by a 50 watt heater.

The tank has been cycled for months.

My male Betta does not bother my neon tetras, in fact he shows no interest in them so I don't think he will bother a bamboo shrimp at all.

So can I add a bamboo shrimp?

I forgot to mention I also have a nerite snail in the tank.

Again my Betta shows no interest in the snail.

I ended up getting two because I did some research and it seemed to indicate that I could have two.

I am currently acclimating them.

Good luck with them. I have two and they are fun to watch. When they extend their front legs to fan for food reminds me of the "Matrix" One thing I have noticed with mine is that they poop alot. They sift through the water column on my HOB and the stuff continually drops out. A fast cycle.

I finished acclimating them a while ago and one started fanning right away but the other did not. I think he somehow lost two of his fans in the bag.

Currently the one who did not start fanning (who I am calling "Gigantor becuase of his size) is still not fanning and I can't get a good enough view of the other one to be able to tell if he/she is fanning or not.

Well the big shrimp died. Probably from loss of fans due to rough handling at the pet store.
