Well I converted my 180 to a ca/sa focused tank and a pair of my severums got busy and laid some eggs on the back wall.

Now just wondering what they are like as parents, do they go nuts, what is the time frame for the eggs to hatch?

And if anyone is near me here in regina feel free to come get some free babies when they hatch as that is a lot of eggs.

Pics to come. May as well photo doc them as they hatch and grow.

First time parents (?) aren't too likely to successfully raise the fry. On the other hand, they'll probably continue to spawn fairly regularly, and will improve with practice.

well I came in this morning after the weekend and almost all the eggs are gone. I suppose they are not fast enough to stop the snatch an grab goin on by the other fish.

Good to know they will not be to successfull on first time round. I have recently decided to sell my arowana and my tsn so I can put the 230g towards smaller fish and thin out the population a bit in this 180g.

I would like for them to have the ability to raise some spawn without the hassle of having to fight off intruders.
