Hi,

What would this be? It is fuzzy, soft, does not come off the rock easily, but is not slimy. It grows only on the rock and mostly where the the flow is.
It is in the new tank (about a week old after cycling, i mean after ammonia and nitrites became undetectable). My light is on for 8 hours.
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate ~10
Phosphate ~0
Calcium 380-400
Alkalinity 11 Deg

My initial response would be cynobacteria, but you said it's not slimy and in a high flow area? Hmm.
In that last picture, it almost looks like red coraline algae (which is what you want).
I'm stumped. I would say it's cynobacteria covering some kind of hair algae. Hair algae can be tough to pull off and maybe the cyno is sticking to it?
I'm sure someone will have a better answer.
 
May be the beginnings of Asparagopsis--not something you want at all. To be sure, I would remove that rock to another bucket with seawater and scrub it vigorously. Then carefully rinse the rock with more water to make sure you don't introduce pieces of it back into the tank where it can grow into new patches.
 
Great, that is just my luck... I wish i had cyano. Well, it is all over the place, so I don't know if removing the rocks and scrubbing could help much, but I will do my best.
