One of my best customers is retiring soon and will be selling his store - I really hate to see him leave but I understand. He has been in the business for 43 years over 20 as a store owner. Anyway - he ordered a pair of betta albimarginata a while back and has had them in a not for sale tank. I made an angelfish/guppy delivery today and we got to talking about them - and he said he wanted to find them a good home where they would be well cared for and be able to breed. I told him my plate is full (and my tanks - angels, abn, guppies, gbr and hopefully ebr) but I would go home are read up on them. He said - here take them home and then read up on them. I have one heavily planted 10 w/a few rcs in it - so I took him up on his offer. I have them in the 10 and they are loving it. They are a bit beat up from being in the LFS tank but both have eaten some live white worms and blood worms (they are hungry) and they are already "courting"!! I may have some albimarginata fry to deal with in the next few weeks - what to do! I am so excited - they are cool fish and something totally different than anything I have right now.

Well, I hope to add them to my offerings on down the road - THANKS BARRY!!!

talk about a stroke of luck!!!

Hey Bunny,

I agree - he paid $60 for the pair. I offered to buy them but he just wanted them to have a good home. That I can do for them!

can you say ... SCORE!
Make sure you put up pics...bubble nest / fry
the whole 9 yards!

Congrats...obviously he wanted you to have them because he trusts that you'll do what is best for the fish

Good on ya

That says a lot about you! :worthy: I would be very careful about who I gave my prized fish to--

Can't wait for the pictures!!

Wow I searched them up- they are beautiful fish
Congratulations
And good luck on keeping them :)

Thanks all,

They are mouth brooders not bubble nesters - something I hope to see! They are also a bit different in that they are a schooling betta and can be kept together in a community type tank. I have them in a heavily planted 10 that is really hard to get to. They are pretty beat up - the male barely has any white on the tip of his tail but I have already noticed some of it growing back. Once they heal up a bit I will try to get some pics - they have been eating white worms, blood worms and I am getting ready to chop up some red worms for them and my GBR's.

I'll keep everyone posted,

Well, I had to Google these guys, but they look awesome! Maybe if I can ever find the room to set up my 20g long again... ;)
