So, I've had both marine and freshwater aquariums for years now and never had major issues with ich. I always raised the temp and treated with copper for about a week and then all was good and happy again. However, I have a pair of koi angels that do not seem to be responding to this method. It has been a week and they have just become more and more infected. I am starting to worry about their fins as it is doing their part to rip them to shreds. Since the copper/heat doesnt appear to be doing the trick, I wanted to switch to the salt/heat method and try that for awhile. I guess my question is how to go about switching. I am fearful of switching too many parameters at once and causing more harm than good, I don't want the water to become toxic with so many chemicals. Any advice for treating incredibly persistant ich? And yes I am sure it is ich, and nitrates/nitrites, ammonium and pH are all within range. I do gravel suction everyday to every other day and all my water is temp matched. I feel pretty helpless on this one.
Thanks guys!

I would add carbon to the filter to remove the copper and after a day or two start with the salt and heat treatment by dissolving the salt in a separate container filled with aquarium water and then slowly add the salt/water mixture to the aquarium over the course of a few days.

Here is a link to a good article about how to treat ich using salt and heat: http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88601
