Ballast question, mounting outside hood

hi guys,

I bought two worklight from HD with 13 w pc bulb ballast and switch all in one, but i am putting this in a custom hood and i would like to know how far from the bulb i can put my ballast ? because i want to put all the ballast (2 no , and 2 pc) in a project box outside of the hood, and if its possible inside the stand, about 3 feet away from the bulb.

If it can help you the ballast are : 120v 60hz 0.26amp, simple reactance ballast, made in china.

Should be able to. My ballasts are all mounted on the hood, but in one case that's still about 4 feet away from the bulbs. Just means extra wiring--and you'll need to secure the wiring well so it doesn't fall in the water!
