What dither fish would you recommend for a 46g bowfront (36 x 12-16 x 18) with a pair of Salvini's?

My local LFS has some 1.5" silver dollars that I'm sure would be nice but I'm also aware that they would eventually get a bit too big. any other ideas?

Thanks

you could try a school of tiger barbs or giant danios. be ready for a few casualties though.

the 46 doesnt really give them enough room to dodge.

the best dither for them is a six foot long tank, 120G.

I use Arulius and spanner barbs.

They also work great as target fish. Tough as nails. They have some nice color (arulius) and school together very well.

hmmmmm.....

20 bucks for some barbs or $1000 for a new 120G....

That's a tough choice.

thanks scotto and demon_surfer for the reasonable advice.

Are your sure they need dithers? In that sized tank, anything you add to it with a breeding pair of salvini is just going to get murdred eventually...think of it as expensive food ;)

Since i don't actually have them yet and I'm not really interested in breeding.....

Would I be better off getting 2 females?

Maybe 1 salvani and a Sajica (T-bar)?

As far as the dithers go..The LFS here recommends rainbows, but at 10-12 bucks a pop their a bit expensive. I was also trying to stay with fish from the western hemisphere.
