What is that, 1 gal. I wouldn't do that to a Betta.

I have that exact tank with a male betta. He rarely even moves from one corner near a plant so there is no reason he couldn't go in that tank. He'll be just fine. Mine only moves when he knows I'm coming to feed. Kyle
Just make sure you don't leave those blinds open too long with the tank sitting there. The temp can rise pretty fast in direct sunlight and algae will grow like mad. That is a pretty cool little set-up for $10. :D
Dude, nice tank...I'm looking for a mini tank as well. I don't think it's such a good idea to leave it in front of the windows though. Unstable temperatures and won't you get a ton of algae?
There was another crazy mini tank I saw in another thread:

But seems like he spent a lot of money, but $10 sounds like a deal!
yeah and that is a lot better home for a betta than those little glasses you see them in at walmart.

That's the exact same tank I have, except I got it from Wal-Mart but I took out the air stone. Betta (now RIP) did not care for the agitation (quite strong for such a little tank) and I didn't care for the extra cleaning hassle. I have a friend who has one, too. She keeps a betta and a java fern in there but she uses the UGF b/c she is not as diligent about water changes as I am.
I have two suggestions: add a thermometer, especially because that little incandescent light PLUS the sunlight might warm it up too much. Also, I would try turning off the pump for feeding time. My friend has to do this, or else the food will go all over the place and the betta will not be able to get at all of it.
You could try a ghost shrimp or two, but don't get too attached to them. Possibly a snail if you add veggies/wafers for it.

I have two that look exactly like that, Except it didn't come with a light. I have a betta in each, and they seem to like it just fine. They's been in there for probably 9 months. I am careful how I feed them, so the food hasn't messed up the tank, and I never have needed to turn off the air pump during feeding time. i usuall just drop a few pieces in at a time, so they can eat it before it sinks (they don't touch it if it hits the floor, or even the mid-tank level.)

add a snail something like a gold inca or ramshorn. if your fish stays off the bottom, drawf crayfish will work.
i bought one of them for a friends betta awhile back. MUCH better option than the vase she was using.
i didn't bother setting it up tho, i just setup the ug with a rock on the plate to hold it down and then was dumping it all out weekly.
i just got the same thing because of this thread, wow what a great deal this things awsome hehe, how about a list of tiny fish that would be happy in it, come on there has to be some!
