Floating Plants with Mbuna?

Has anyone tried this? Have any success?

I figure that's about the only plant my light can support and it would provide a nice shady area. Most floaters grow pretty quickly as well so they may be able to overcome the mbuna damage.

When I had Mbuna, I had hornwort which did ok except it loses it's needles and tends to be messy. I then tried pennywort and I liked it a lot better.

Try frogbit or water lettuce, I have a butt load of water lettuce so I could send you some if you would like.

I did the best with anacharis, not that it lasted all that long . . .

Hmm I might try some water lettuce. I have some in my 5 gallon and it sounds like I could easily get more

when i had my 55g mbuna setup, no matter what plants i put in there, they tore em up. but good luck!

I may suggest Eichhornia
Very hardy and really pretty

I had frogbit & duckweed in my tank, the duckweed was eaten first than the frogbit but it took quite some time. If you have a renewable source it could work (I pulled it out of my 10g).

I would say duckweed but only if you really want it, Duckweed is pretty invasive..
