View Full Version : The GBRs are growing

For those who have been following the GBR spawn I have been growing out I wanted to post some pics of them. They are doing great, eat like pigs and are even starting to pair up. I have moved 2 pairs out of the 75 to their own tanks in hopes of getting more spawns. The parents of this spawn haven't laid since January so I moved them to the 75 w/all the others. They are already starting to act like they are wanting to spawn and I hope they lay on the flower pot in the tank so I can pull the spawn and hopefully raise it. I have some group pics and a pic of a new little pair.

A quick update. I have kept 3 pairs of these as breeders and right now I have 2 of the 3 pairs w/eggs on a leaf and some wigglers in a jar from the other pair. They mature soooo quickly - I am used to angels and these little guy look way to small to be breeding already. I hope to be able to raise another batch soon - we'll see.

I had one little pair get their eggs to wigglers and I was sooooo excited, I thought I had parent raisers - then he proceeded to eat all the wigglers!!! :mad2: I will get them out next time for sure!! I do have some fry in the jar - hope these make it!

I have sent out 4 pairs so far and have 6 to 7 little pairs in the tank right now. I am waiting to hear back from another member who wanted to get several pairs before listing them in the FS section. Send me a PM if you are interested. Also - I still have the guppies - could get them all together!
