it could have been bladder disease but I don't think that's ever killed them instantly like that, however I am not 100% sure on that. A way to help rectify would have been to offer it a skinned pea. Not being ab;\le to see the pifs though... was it sudden? Did you notice his scales pine coming out away from the body maybe?

Scales were still smooth... and it was sudden, i woke up and checked on the fishes and all of them were swimming in a school... and then after an hour i noticed this one upside down... and within 5 minutes of me noticing it passed away...
I used flckr to upload the pics... if u right click and open in a new tab/window it'll open i think...
Thanks for the reply

thanks.... sorry you lost this little guy.... I don't know what the problem could have been, really. I do know that tigers usuallyhave a viscious pecking order when in a group and could be quite troublesome toward each other in the wake of that however, I don't know if they could have caused something like that... sorry I am of no help for this...

Just over a week into the incident, i lost another fish today... again everything was fine and all the fishes were swimming together when i checked them up in the morning... but in 20 minutes things changed dramatically... my smallest barb in the school was fin nipped and dropped like a rock in water upside down... tail fins are fine just the dorsal fins looked ravaged... and within 5 mins of me noticing and seperating it from the other fishes it passed away.
This was the smallest fish in the school and i dont see it trying to get up on the pecking order.. and i dont feel a fish can die of fin nipping so quickly... this one is not bloated.
I did a 40% water change last sunday and the next WC was scheduled for today...
No other changes in the tank environment...
Am i dealing with something serious here? I'm worried about my other 18 fishes..
