So, there was a mini disaster at my lfs when i went in there on monday. they had problems with their piping. so they lost a lot of their fish. fast forward to today and I went in there to see if all was back to normal...

Well, they had gotten a bunch of fish in including wc frontosa, red empress, cherry red zebra's etc... The cool thing was their local yellow lab breeder, who I have gotten some of my recent labs from the store, had taken down his tanks as he was moving away. This included a 100g that he bred the labs in. So, there are some pretty full grown awesome labs. I had to scoop them up. One male I picked up is STUNNING. he almost glows, with a lot of black in the fins and no barring. the other one I picked up is very nice as well, but doesnt have the same glow. I also picked up an adult cherry red female for my main 55g tank, as I was wanting to switch out one of the females as she has gotten really bossy lately... I will try to snap some pics or video before I release them. They are pretty big at 4-5''. My only concern is that I just moved my small nhkata bays into the tank....sigh. This will be interesting.

oh, upon release, I was worried they would pick on the others, but this was not the case. The maingano took it upon itself to chase them relentlessly for a few min. I couldnt take it, so I caught it and put it in "the box" lol. This is the maingano who has been coloring lately. I decided to vent it as I had caught it and its a female! I was def caught off guard. goes to show, early coloration and aggressive attitude doesnt always mean its a male. Now that that maingano is seperated, the rest are happy as can be. My nkhata bays are comfy already and nobody bothers them, yay!

Yeah, some female mbuna are as dominant as some of our wives can be. I had a female rusty that was frequently beating the male rusties. I knew she was a female when I saw her holding for the first time.
BTW, very nice your new mbunas!

Awesome coloring! Congrats on the pick up!

Of course we wanted the pictures! :D Very nice pickups & photos!
