Yesterday I was gifted a tank, complete with hood, filter, sand, shells, and.... 17 multies :D They are so adorable. They had one shell each, so I added about 40 more, and I am really hoping to see some babies poking out in the near future.

My question is feeding the little guys. Nothing I have pulled up by googling mentions a lot about diet. What do you guys feed yours?

I feed mine Kens Cichlid flake, Super Brine Flake and Super Tropical flake. I have tried frozen bloodworms, but they are not interested in the least. They do like white worms, and the ones 1in and under love microworms.

Mine are on a steady diet of NLS and they breed like proverbial rabbits.

I feed NLS 1mm without problems and have been over run by them

I feed mine the NLS Community flakes w/garlic. I've had them 3 months and had 2 spawns already. The flakes are a bit messier, but they seem to like it.

Any flake with protein like Omega one cichlid flake and NLS 1mm or fry foods.

I feed mine Kens Spirulina Flakes with garlic and paprika, decapsulated brine shrimp eggs and frozen cyclops; but it seems as these foods were working as birth control pills; so, don't pay any attention to my comments, please!

LOL efors.... Thanks every one for your suggestions. I don't have much experience with Tangs. These guys are DEFINITELY cool. After adding the rock caves and all those extra shells, they come out more and swim higher, to the top of the rocks. It is so neat watching the males escort the females around and show them different shells. I can't believe how they have moved the shells around.

I can't for the life of me remember which brand I used as a staple....it was a sinking, cichlid pellet...All I know is that I tried introducing them to NLS and they didn't bite.

Mine loved bloodworms and BBS as treats.

So far I have been feeding mine slow sinking goldfish pellets, just because that is what I have, lol. They tear it up. But I will get them a higher protein food in the next day or two ;)

Mine get Hikari micropellets as a primary staple. The fry have been finding food as I've now got about 20 or so of the little guys and I don't feed anything special for the fry.

Yeah, they are very interesting and fun to watch little creatures.
