do you guys think i can add some italian vals to my 55 gallon tank, and not drop the PH or anything, no Co2 and with T-5s for lights, should i add anything, and will my tangs eat them, i just need some more color besides the rocks and fish, and the fake plants well... look fake
and my substrate is sand

I think it is possible without having to do any of the things you mentioned. The problem is that with African cichlids, the addition of plants is a hit or miss type of situation: sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

cool thank you

The majority of Tang species do not eat plant material the only downfall would be if the plant was located in the path of a pit they will dig for spawning purposes.. I have Anubias in with my Tangs and no problems, Vals should be good to go..
