Hey everybody!

I am new here and just wanted to say hi and see what you think I my riparium. I have been in the hobby for less than a year, so dont be to hard on me!

Tank's Stats'

Lighting: hydroponics T5HO flourecent strip light 6,500k 24w bulb (as of 12\16\09)

Filteration: Tetra Whisperer 30i internal filter

Fertilization: EI doseing with dry fertilizers. (As of 2/10)

Subtrate: Pool filter sand (As of 1/10)

Tank: 20g high

Extra Decor': wood, slate

Fauna: One male Convict Cichlid

Flora: (emersed plants)
aluminum plant (Pilea cadierei)
peace lilly (Spathiphyllum)
Ivy house plant
(submersed plants)
anubais nana X2
anubais barteri
java fern 'widelove' and 'needle leaf'
"floaters"

Recent problems: Brown algae

any fish? try breeding a pair of splashing tetras in there!!! (if you can find them)

That's a bit small for a convict. but nice tank!

Thanks all! I have a male convict, but I will be giving him away and replacing him with some sort of small schooling fish. Plattys proabably.

That's nice , is the peace lilly roots growing in the water ?
I just might have to consider a rip :)

Yep, the peace lillys do best in Planters with the roots in the planting subtrate, which in turn is under water. I have an artical on it in my blog if your interested. (See sig.) I have really like my experience with ripariums. They are so easy to clean and change the appearence of that a total rearrage takes 15min at the most!
