It's been over a year since I had CO2 in my tank and I've decided to set it up again. My setup consists of a yeast Gatorade bottle with an air line that's silicon sealed to the lid. The airline runs through a pressure valve and then a back-flow preventer (in case water tried to leak into the bottle). The tubing is connected to an airstone in the tank. Would this work? Any tips/suggestions?

Sounds like a good basic set-up. You may want to consider a second -empty- bottle between the gatorade and the check-valve. This bottle can act as a separator so no yeast-juice gets into the tank, and you can also use it as a bubble counter if set up right.

How are you diffusing the CO2?
