i have a black neon that's been extremely bloated for about 2 weeks now. she still eats and swims ok and she nips at other fish when they get too close to her.

anyone have any idea what this is? and should i quarantine her? i haven't got any cycled and fishless tanks is the only problem.

Could be egg bound, constipated, have an internal tumour or be developing dropsy. Hard to say without a photo, not to mention a scalpel and dissecting tray.

If you think isolation is needed, do so. Provided H/T is lot smaller volume than main tank and in optimal condition, take the water from main tank. This hsould resove cycling issue. Just keep an close eyes on the H/T.
If water changes are need in H/T, you can use water from main to do so. And cut down on feeding/skip a feeding. It may not be eating already! Is it?

Pics and water parameters?
