hello its me again,


i have just finished my soon to be african tank. here is a pic. can you tell me whether or not that my new africans will enjoy their new home. im hoping to stock 5-6 electric yellow labs. i really dont kno what esle i wanna put with them, i might just go with a species tank. let me in on your thoughts. tell me what you think plzzz! lol thanks!

To be honest, I'm not really digging the red bricks -- looks too man-made for my tastes....You may want to look at some of the tanks in the African cichlid subforum for ideas....maybe get a nice mix of boulders like the ones you have mixed in with the bricks...

yea i wasnt really feeling the bricks either but they really didnt have nothing else at the hardware store i was looking for some stones, large flat stone, maybe slate im still decorating, 9 times outta 10 thats not going to be the final outcome

Are they siliconed/glued into place?

I agree that you'll need a lot more structure than that eventually.

no they are not glued together or anything i didnt want to because i know im goin to change it around in the future it looks different now i changed it around alittle and now i know ima need more bricks and rocks

hey can anybody help me? how much wieght can a 55 gal hold? not the tankstand but the tank itself i dont want the glass breaking underneath it wen i add more decor to it. can anybody give me an idea? plzzzz i need to know asap

home depot or lowes got some nice flat stones and slates

about the weight, i have my 75g tank with about 3 or 4 times the amount of weight that you have in square stones and slates. ill see if i can post a pic tomorrow so you can get an idea of what im talking about

i work at lowes an i use slate tile all i did was wrap the 12x12 tile in a towel an then lighly hit it with a rubber mallot then sand down the edges the fish love it

well heres the newest pic. i call it the underwater aztec fortress! lol i think its a good theme i hope the africans will too what do you guys think?
