i have a little small patches of black Brush Algae on some leaves of a plant, I have algae control stuff, but i dont want to use it incase it harms my fish or shrimps, is there another way of removing it other than getting SAE,Ripping off the leaf?

I'm going thru the same problem right now. Ive heard Prime and Excel work if u dab it on the leaves. I was wondering how you get it off driftwood. My two pieces are covered!

What species of plant is it? Any chemical treatment will depend on the plant because not all plants are tough enough to avoid permanent damage.

I strongly recommend avoiding use of any off-the-shelf algacides in your planted aquarium. If you look on the back these products they most likely either contain a high concentration ethyl alcohols or a low concentration of copper sulfate. They may even contain Diuron, a commercial pesticide. Truely unless you have a fish-only aquarium, or understand EXACTLY how these chemical affect plant health, avoid these treatments please.

yea hats what i don't want to do, but i tried taking it off manually but not too much success , and i don't want to rip off the leaves before it spreads because its on quite a few of them. as for the plant specie i forgot : p sorry. but i have a picture :

turn off all filtration and and powerheads so that you have no water circulation at all. drain about 50% of the water out of your tank. wait a few minutes so that your sure the water isnt moving. then take a syringe with either excel or hydrogen peroxide and very slowly injext it over the areas with bba. give it about 5 minutes and refill your tank.

now comes the important part to keep it away. add co2! keep your co2 levels around 30 ppm and you will probably never see it again

i've read that doing large weekly water changes in a low tech tank can cause bba just from the fluctuation of co2 from the fresh water added

Yep, and that's what I suspect is happening.

i will do that, but for the co2 i dont have i might make a DIY one
