So I have been looking online and I finally found a word for what I'd love to do with my 27 Hex. It is riparium. I have always wanted to do something like this but all i ever found before were terrariums or paludariums. Anyway, I have a 27 hex that is 24" tall w/ a 48 current nova extreme FW light. The light has a 10,000k and a 6,700k bulb. I don't know yet if i wanna fill the tank 1/3 or 2/3 with water. I would love to do some kind of SA biotope. German blue rams are my favorite fish and i plan on having a couple, but these are my only "have to have fish". So here come the questions.

What kind of plants do you guys think I could grow in this tank?
What kind of filter would be best?
What other fish could I include?

I'm very new to this and any help is greatly appreciated!!

i see you waited a while to post your first time. :D

at any rate check out hydrophytes blog for a list of riparium friendly plants and some ideas.

any hob filter would be hard to work with. other than that i'd think your options are open.

a hex tank may not display a riparium as well as a rectangular one. then again i don't think i've seen one to compare with either.
 
As suggested, take a look at Hydrophyte's Blog or The Planted Fish Bowl (See my sig.) for some good plants, tips and such. I haven't seen any hex ripariums, but they look promising as long as you have a good backround. I would go with the water level at 2/3 full. Because it means more room for fish!
