I recently reduced the temperature in my 36 that houses amano and RCS, the shrimp seem much more active. What temp range should I be shooting for? TIA

most shrimp like low temps, 64-72 is the range i use.
btw, did u come across amano shrimp (u mean cardina japonica right?) catching and eating your RCS?
here people say they are killers and don`t usually put them with other shrimps
(that`s a great thing for me coz i love them so every1 of my friends that gets RCS gives me his amano shrimps :-) )

low 70s seem the best for me.

So then could you say that a shrimp only tank wouldn't require a heater if your room temp is averaging around 74? Say a 1.5 gal with 4 RCS in it. Or would the possible temp changes in the room cause issues?

I have no problem with amanos eating rcs, amanos, I thought, were safe for all shrimp.

I've never heard of amanos eating other shrimp unless they are dead. but I could be wrong.
IME RCS do prefer water a little warmer, say 74-78F, while some other shrimp prefer cooler waters, my other tanks are all at 72F
