So this is in a different tank than discuss HERE but this IS what my mystery illness looked like. This, what I believe to be, female was in my 20 long "male" holding tank with 8 other 2"+ OBs & she did not look like this AT ALL yesterday. I think she was beaten to within an inch of her life (yes she is still alive) & the fuzzy looking stuff is scale & flesh and maybe a little infection. She has actual bleeding where her dorsal fin meets her body towards her tail fin, I don't know if you can see it in the pictures. If you click on the pictures you should be able to see them in jumbo size, if not let me know.

All the fish in the 72 seem all healed up though. I have noticed that the newly added cobalts are VERY territorial & I think when I added them it worsened the aggression (and the rearranging of rocks also induces fighting over territories again) and the "illness" was just major fighting with minor infections.

P.S I am extra PO'd that this is a female! I have been trying to single out nice blotchy females. :angryfire:

She looks like she was beat down or how you would find one that jumped from a tank and was out for a bit.. Dam it sorry Jen.. Its still not too late to come over to the Tang side my young apprentice..

lol I do like tangs too but I would hate to switch fish types on a "give-up" note. I LOVE my mbunas & this all has been a learning experience. She is the only fish that I lost due to aggression & that is understandable considering she was in a 20g long with 8 other males! They were not supposed to stay in that tank as long as they did AND when I fed them this after noon everyone looked fine (I thoroughly check them out because of their tight situation) so someone must have just went NUTS on her.

Now I know what my problem was in the big tank AND I know they are at a ventable size, the last picture you can see her holes pretty well. She will not have died in vain!

I'm so sorry about your loss! But you are right, don't give up!!! :thm:

Thanks guys. I have to take back the part about this being the only one I lost to aggression. I forgot about the albino that died kicking this thing in the main tank off, so make that 2.
