To Pot or Unpot?

I'm not much of a plant person, but am trying to learn. Today I bought 2 Micro Swords, 2 variegated rushes, and a sword plant. They are all in these black plastic pots. Should I leave them in the pots, or take them out????????Which would be best for the plants????? I have silica sand as my gravel. Any help would be appreciated.

I usually unpot mine. It makes them easier to plant in the tank and it looks better. I read somewhere the pots just make it easier for the store to sell and maintain them.

Thanks OldVamp, I really don't like the looks of the pots and I can't hide them deep enough in the gravel to not show.

I'm not sure those are a water plant, I had one a year ago and it grew very little. After about 6 months all the leaves had died and it rotted away.

The coarseness of the leaves kinda seem like a terrestrial plant.
