I came home today to find the surface of my tank full of what I originally thought were air-bubbles. After looking more closely, it seems pretty clear that they're honey gourami eggs being guarded by one of the honeys I've had for awhile. I'm assuming yesterday's water-change must have prompted the spawning. Having never had this happen before, I have some questions:

-Would a spawning happen without fertilization? I've never figured out the sexes of my honeys, so what are the chances these eggs never develop?
-Also in the tank are zebra danios, a male dwarf flame gourami, and some cories. No one seems to be bothering the eggs right now, but do I need to worry that they'll become snacks soon?
-What should I do going forward? Do I separate the eggs from the rest of the tank now, or wait until there are fry?

do you have pics of teh honeys? The eggs likely won't be snacks but the fry will. Other tahn that, i have no practical experience to share with you as mine always got munched on before they were free swimmers.

Here's the one who is guarding the eggs. When I bought him he was pure white, but over time seemed to develop coloring more like the flame dwarf who also lives in the tank. The other two honeys are still white, but they were being too shy to snap a good picture of.

well that is certainly an impressive bubble nest and that is a boy. Typically the females have a broad brown band laterally and a more rounded dorsal and are much paler in color.
