I do excel in my 75 but am adding a lot of new plants so I decided to supplement with DIY again, and am trying to figure out the best placement for the powerhead diffusor.

I have a pengiun 350 on one side but I keep the water level above the return to minimize splash, and a Fluval 405 intake on the other end, the outflow for the fluval is near center in the tank.

Should I put the powerhead that is diffusing the co2 under the HOB to try and blow it under and past, or on the other end of the tank blowing towards it. I feel like the second choice is best, but not many of the bubbles are making it past the outflow from the fluval.

since the canister will have a stronger flow i would put the diffuser under the fluval output.

Why not run your CO2 tube into the Fluval intake and let it diffuse thru the canister? Saves cluttering your tank with an extra powerhead...

I would have a glass diffuser sitting right under the intake of the canister. But that's me.

However...someone told me that plants do better with micro bubbles instead of total diffusement. Not sure what to think on that myself. But....I would go with the first one.

I read that somewhere also. Might have to do a little research on that one, methinks...

its possible for the canister to get air locked this way. though many people do it that way.

Yes, this is an issue. I had my pressurised running this way, and it would belch every few hours, allowing a big bubble of gas to hit the surface and be wasted. I just thought in this case, with different filters around the tank, it might help to tidy things up a little...

My powerhead wasn't cutting it so until I get a better one I attached an airstone and put inside the intake for my fluval.
Should I expect to see bubbles coming out of my outflow or is it normal to not when doing it this way?
