My Mystery Snail killed it's self..

:help:I got up and found one of my bigger Mystery snails, on the floor. It feel about 3 1/2 feet, it's shell shattered on the bottom. It was dead the next morning. Why is that the only one, out of 10 that crawled out of my tank?? I don't understand. What can I do to prevent any of the others from crawling out?
I would really like to start raising Mystery snails, and I won't be able to if they keep crawling out of the tank. Please!!!!! Can anyone give me some pointers, PLEASE! Hopefully I can get back to this page. But if not, you can contact me at kynanerdnof@yahoo.com

Do you have a top on your tank? If not you will want to get one!

Drop your water line a few inches that should stop it from happening again. They crawl out trying to find a place to lay their eggs.

a lid really is the only way to keep it from happening. keeping the water line down works most of the time though. here and there ill find one out of 100+ out of the tank but it doesnt happen often.

I do have a lid but it doesn't cover the hole top. How any inches should I drop the water level? Thank you.

1-2 inch is fine.
