Well I am the outkast and I was born and raised in Lehigh Acres Florida and now I live in Sheboygan Wisconsin, thanks to my beautiful wife. I currently have 2 saltwater nano tanks. I is a 14 gal biocube and the other is a 9 gal nanowave 9. I had bought a 75 gal with overflows and was going to make another reef tank but have now changed my mind. I am interested in doing a freshwater with this tank. Not sure what kind but I really love the look of planted tanks. I know I want it to look as natural as possible. So I am brousing ghost forum on hopes to get an idea of what I want to do. I also have a t-5 ho 6x54watt light fixture. I do not think the bulbs are good for planted tanks. I have 3 actinic and 3 10k daylight bulbs. I was reading that 6500 bulbs work better for fresh? Well anyways, I wanna hear what everyone else thinks would be good for my 75. O and it has a 30 gal sump/refuge.

hello and welcome from your neighboring state. lots and lots to do with your 75g. I have a planted sa/ca, and another 75g with malawi and some vals. I think everyone has their own opinions on types lighting/plants/nutrients etc. Me? I take some advice if it makes sense ( 35 + yr with fish) but basically I think it's somewhat of trial and error with plants because everyones situation is so very different. I stick with what is termed beginner plants and they grow very well for me,

Thanks for the advice pongo. I diff will be a beginner. I have had reef tanks for 4 yrs total but they all have been nano's. Lots of reading to do and question to be asked. I just LOVE the way planted tanks look. I want it to look real as possible. I really wouldlike to have Lilly pads and old tree stumps and stuff like that. I was thinking discus tank. I want diffinitly multiple kinds of fish. I am staying away from the ciclids. Love them but my wife also wants neons.
