So yesterday I was pet store hopping and one of my lfs had young blood parrots for sale for $5 each. So I made an impulse buy:wall: and got 3 blood parrots and their around 3". They are my very first cichlids and I'm very excited and nervous at the same time. Because they were an impulse buy I don't have a setup for them so their chillin' in my 10gal QT tank until I can locate a screaming good deal on a 55gal.

Anyways I was planning on setting up a 55gal Angel tank to begin with and I was wondering if the blood parrots and angels would be chill with each other and the buffalo cichlids are starting to catch my attention too so any info would be great. Thanks.

The parrots might push the angels around a bit. The angels definitely don't belong in a tank with buffalo cichlids. One comes from slow moving wooded pools of acidic water in South America, the other from fast moving, rocky streams in Africa. I guess they won't die in the same tank together, but what's the point if you don't care to keep the fish happy and healthy?

I posted this thread so long ago and never noticed that someone replied. No worries I no longer want buffalo head cichlids. I'd still like to try the angels out though as those guys are what I wanted to begin with. If the angels and parrots don't mesh in the end then maybe I can find a place for tank #14. Thanks for the help.
