New Fish!

Picked up 6 Chalinochromis brichardi and 5 syno petricola today! The guy said the Chalinochromis brichardi are pretty mellow and should do well for me. I'm pretty excited. I took a few quick pictures of the 20 long. They are a little freaked out but look fantastic. The synos went into hiding right away so no pictures of those.
The guy had an awesome fish room! Lots of Tangs. I wish I had brought my camera but I didn't think to take it with me.
I also threw in a picture of the newly arranged 20 long and 2 of my 3 calvus. These 2 are the medium and small one. The big guy is pretty shy.

They went in the 20 long for now. They still need to grow a little before they are moved to the 80 gallon. One was big enough to add with the mbuna but I didn't want to just add one fish so he's hanging out with the others. I already have 4 petricolas in the 80 gallon I just got them some buddies.

AWSOME....I was wanting some for mine, but wasn't sure how it would work out. Guess I better start looking for some ;)


The petricola are great with the mbuna! When I first got mine the mbuna tried to pick at them but dropped them quickly. The synos went on like nothing happened and the mbuna left them alone. I think they have spins to protect themselves.

Thanks! They are great and feeling a little braver this morning. they are all eating well and seem to be getting along. My lone multi is not pleased but these guys can take his aggression.
Speaking of which, how horrible is it to only have 1 multi? I removed the rest but I cannot catch this guy. He doesn't use the shells he darts for the plants instead.

They are pretty neat. I've been watching them and there are a couple little spats between them but nothing serious aggression wise.

what are the tankmates for these guys?

Right now they are in the crowded 20 long.

So they have 2 dwarf platies, 3 white calvus,1 snail, 5 syno petricola 1 bn pleco 1 multi and 1 hap to call roommates. The multi will be moved tonight and the hap will be moved in 2 weeks. I tried removing the platies but all the other fish went to being shy again so back in they went. The petricola will be moved as soon as they are big enough. Then these guys will hopefully pair up and extras will be sold. Once that's all done there will be 3 white calvus, 3 dwarf platies, 1 snail and 1 bn pleco.


Keep in mind all of the fish are very small.

cool. Sounds like a fun active tank for the time being :) There is nothing wrong with overcrowding as long as the water is kept up with. I really like those new guys

I know the tangs won't let me get away with bad water quality lol. Everything has been nice and steady since I set this tank up.
