ok so my penguin 100 biowheel is cloged again and normally ide take it in under warenty but i cant find the pice of paper that they gave me for the warenty:duh:
so for the past few hours ive been trying to figure out ho to get at this freaking impeller to see whats stuck in there and i wuldent be posting a thread if i succeeded
so can anyone tell me HOW TO OPEN THIS THING or if i even can or if theres anything else i can do to fix this problem
i suspect its cloged with either java moss, sand, a snail, or roots from some luckey bamboo i have growing a good few feet out of the tank

This is based on my Penguin 100B (and assumes that the filter is unplugged, off the tank and empty of water. :) )

Pull the intake assembly straight up and out of the body of the unit. It should bring the impeller up with it. If not, try reseating the intake assembly so that it fully engages the impeller and pull it up again. If still no luck, the problem might be that the impeller isn't engaging correctly ... and you'll need super-long tweezers or needle-nose pliers or something to pull the impeller out of its hole. Or you could turn the unit upside down and knock it out, I guess!

Hope that helps.
