The divider is called "egg crate". It is actually a light diffuser used in overhead flourescent lights. You can buy it at any home improvement center. It is easily cut to size and extremely versatile in the fish room. I used it to make a "fish trap" for the pond. I also used it to make a biological filter box to fit over the intake of the pond.

Or you can buy a milk crate and use a side of it for a seperator, same size holes I think

Is is just me or does the Umbee always look like he is smiling? ;)
Jumbo doesn't get amused with much, does he? That's how mine is. I wouldn't have her any other way. :)

I have only been bitten once. It was a Citrinellum. But other than that I never had any problem with that.

What is the reason for the "love door"? They dont do the dead through that do they? Is it just a spot for the fish to see each other a little better? Just wondering.

Thanks,
Stias'

The female can fit through, but the male can't. Gives her the option on picking the right time to "visit" without getting the beejeezus kicked out of her.

I have pots on both sides of the divider on the chance that she might want to lay eggs on her side. The male will and often does fertilize through the egg crate.

Those are some class 'A' fish. I especially like "Jumbo" and your red devil/midas pair.

Hard to tell Kevin. He looks like he has "puffed up" a bit. I keep remembering how fast that hump grew on the female. Anythhing's possible. Water changes tomorrow. i'll have a better shot at appraising the situation then.
