i have a 125 gallon with 1 homemade canister filters and 2 hobs. i had my canister filter intake on one side of the tank and output on the other. my hobs were messing up the flow so i bought tubes the would fit the intakes of the hobs run them to the other side of the tank and behind my rock wall. looks a little tacky but i have plans to cover it up with plants. the larger of the 2 didnt have a problem sucking up the air but the smaller hob had issues. i had to submerge the tube compleatly to get it to suck all the air and start flowing. once it had started i routed the tube under the water to where i needed it to be and then pulled the slack of the tube out of the water. the flow is awesome now and trash is being sucked to the filter well.

Did you put any sort of strainer on the hose? I would be worried about snails and lil' fishes get caught in it.
Wasn't that tank supposed to burn down your house anyhow?:OT:

I really like the rocks moved off to one side much better. :) That's a great looking piece of driftwood, too.

lol man thats funny. yes it was supposed to burn down and my canister filter was also supposed to leak all over the floor. im still waiting. and yes i took the original strainers from the hobs and put them on the tubes.
