Ill make it quick since this should be an easy question. Heres the deal:
I currently have 20 pounds of livesand in my 20 gallon tank. This isnt enough IMO. So what i was thinking about doing is using dry sand instead of more livesand. I have two concerns.
1.There is a lot of algae on the sand since the tank is in the cycling stages. If i put the sand over it will it die and rot and cause problems with the water quality?
2. The live sand is already in the tank. If i put the other sand ON TOP of the live sand will it kill the bacteria living inside it? (from no light or no heat)
