Fish Enthusiasts: Many Aquarium Tanks 10 to 50 Gallon - $1 (Loudon, NH)
Hi aquaria enthusiasts.

I have a tractor trailer full of tanks.
ONE BUCK per Gallon!!

Former pet store inventory.
Most of the tanks are drilled for system use and/or bio overflow.
Can be plugged (if need be) with bulkhead fitting.
Have some decorations.
Light bulbs.
Have some natural dried corals including a 24" gorgeous Red Pipe Organ. Barnacles.
Many artificial corals good for fresh or salt water. Many still in packaging.
Lots of books on fish, birds, specific cat and dog breeds.
Its time for me to empty the trailer and move on.
Metal stand for 220 gallon tank.
LARGE decorations that came from my 720 gallon marine aquarium. (Tank is long gone)
A few acrylic display cubes eight feet long (multiple cubicles). $100 each.
Metal Halide pendants.
Inline 1000 watt heater.
Some used pumps.
Some inline cartridge filters.
Many serviceable large UV sterilizers. Cheap!
Looking to move quantities of items.

Trailer too tight for pictures.

1st come 1st served.
As the inventory dwindles I will be able to better describe what I have. (Hard to move inside this 50' tractor trailer
Mostly aquarium items, but many other dog and cat items that you can look at while youre here for the fish stuff!

PLEASE DO NOT WRITE AND ASK FOR PICTURES! ..............Its not gonna happen for a while!
I do not have a written inventory list either!

I called the guy today. He said he has to move something out of the way so it's possible to get in the trailer. He's going to call me when it's ready for me to come over and take a look. I'll let you guys know what I find!

Haha... I wish! I can't set up any more tanks right now---I think my partner would kick me out---but I might pick up a few for later... I really want to start a fish rescue as soon as I have the space.

Remember to play it safe and take someone with you when you go.

yes be careful,.. you don't want to go into a dark trailer and get locked in there with him,.. there are a lot of real nuts out there,.. just looking to hook easy prey,..

if possible take a larger male friend or your dad with you,.. that stays outside to watch,.. to make sure he don't try something,..

Thanks for looking out for me. :)

I will either bring a friend, or use my standard backup plan: give the address to a friend, call them when I get there, and designate a check-in time (usually 30 minutes). If I don't call by the designated time and they can't reach me, they call the police. I've never had a problem, but better safe than sorry.

Plus, I'm 5'11", so not your typical "easy" prey. ;)

great find! I'm sure you're smart enough to not need warning about looking out for yourself. Paranoia is unwarranted.

I don't mind. It's easy to get excited about a discovery and forget to be careful.

precisely. Three of my four speeding tickets have been from the trip to pick up a tank or similar find. ;)

Those people feed from the fear they can see in others...

I have never had a problem, and I am not female, but have been in some situations that could be scary to others...

The confidence you display can usually deter criminal activity, as criminals prefer the easy targets... (not limited to sexual crimes either), if you convince yourself that you can outsmart scary people and situations, you should never have a problem with victimization.

I grew-up in a poor area in California, and have seen some things that others shouldn't... I also know that crime happens everywhere, and we should always be mentally prepared to deal with this kind of situation.

On a lighter note though, I would love to be in that trailer... Sounds like you should get there quick and pull out everything you want and make a nice low, yet fair offer. I love this kind of scavenge hunt... :) Good Luck Daisy...

You're absolutely right. If there's a weapon, it probably doesn't matter how big or strong (or male) you are. However, that's not a likely situation and so I choose to take reasonable precautions, but not assume the worst.

Thanks! It should be fun! I wish I had any family members or "offline" friends who were into fish. It would be so much more fun with a fishy buddy. I have a good friend who would probably go with me anyway, though. We've been close since high school and we do all kinds of crazy stuff together. :p:

Offline friends? You mean those fleshies?

The only friends you need are your REAL digital friends... :)

muhahahaaaa...

so? was there hidden treasure??

I actually just went today. It was fun! Turns out he closed his store 15 years ago, so the stuff is a bit dusty (to say the least). There were tanks, stands, sumps (at least I think that's what they were), books, misc. small equipment (like algae scrubbers), a box of bio-balls... it was all crammed into a trailer, so it's hard to see everything. A flashlight would have been helpful.

Here's what he told me about the tanks before I went (which seemed accurate):

There are 8 40 Long aquariums. All are drilled for bulkhead fittings. There are many 20H a few 20L and several 10s all are drilled for bulkhead fitting. There are a couple 29s and one 30L undrilled.

I think there was also a 50 or two, but I couldn't swear to that. Be warned: several mice got into the tanks and could not get out, so there are some pitiful little mouse corpses along with the dust and spiderwebs.

There is also a smaller assortment of non-fish things---dog collars, hamster wheels, bird perches, and the like. I wasn't interested in that stuff, so I didn't look at it that closely.

He takes cash only. He said he might be taking the listing down soon because he's getting busy and won't have time to meet people, so if you are in the area and interested, I suggest you go ahead and contact him.

I ended up just getting a 40 long and a 20 long. If I had been getting more stuff, I might have haggled, but with just the two tanks I didn't bother.

All in all, I had a great time. I did get a friend to go with me, so the hour-long drive there and back was enjoyable, and I loved the adventure of it. If climbing through dusty junk in search of treasure is not your thing, then you might want to steer clear. ;)
