Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to improve the coloration of the shrimp through feeding? I was thinking maybe carrots would help, but anything else? I want to make a new food type, specifically for inverts that is aimed at increasing colors, so all input is quite appreciated!

As far as natural veggies go, anything high in Vitamin A (carotenoids, of which the best known is beta carotene) would work - dark green and red/orange foods. Beet juice, sweet potato, pumpkin, carrot as well as spinach, broccoli, green beans, etc.
For protein foodstuffs, Spirulina, kelp and shrimp are all natural color enhancers - in fact, I think it's shrimp that make flamingos pink ;)
The fact of the matter, though, is that you'd probably get the best results feeding something like Astaxanthin (NatuRose is one popular formulation). So you might consider ordering some of that, and mixing it into your food.

hmmmmmm im seeing a recipe coming to mind! This could be quite interesting to try out. Im thinking beat juice along with spinach/broccoli and carrot with spirulina. I am going to do more research into Astaxanthin right now and see what thats all about ^_^
