i am new to this forum and would apreciate any help or info on my aquarium wood it started off with afew white spots and has started spreading over the wood and now on to a different piece of wood does anyone know what it is or anyway off getting rid THANKS

If it looks sort of gelatinous or fluffy-looking, it's probably just the stuff (fungus, I think?) that commonly grows on wood when you first put it in the tank. It's unsightly, but harmless and will go away on its own... eventually. You can remove it manually, but it will just grow back again until it has run its course, so to speak.

Do you have Nerite snails?

Welcome to AC!

I've had my driftwood in my tank for 3 months now with no problems. Today, I found the one piece has many hard white dots. I had to use something pointed and hard to scrape several dots off. They are about the size of a dull pencil point and completely round.

Are they spores? I bought two new fish yesterday and two zebra snails, all from differnet stores.
