I am wondering if amano shrimp would be in any danger with clown loaches.

Ok before someone calls me out..
I have 7 clown loaches.

I have seen them go after small RCS but I dont have any photographic proof..
so ...

Once the loaches reach a certain size, I'm pretty sure the amanos would become lunch.

OK so if I get small clowns lets say 1 1/2 inches or less the amanos should be ok for awhile at least until the clowns get to like 3 inches??

MAYBE. And I stress that. Just because they can't fit the whole shrimp into their mouth doesn't mean they can rip it to shreds.

this is a heavily planted tank right? I would think you have awhile before they were activelly sought out. Amanos are masters of disguise so fi you add the loaches, don't be surprised if you don't physically see much of the amanos.

Well about half of the 120 has 3 pieces of DW and the plants just about cover them up and there is a little rock work in there also. The amanos are 2 inches maybe more and FAT!! I have plenty of snails for the clowns to feed on.

I would guess that as long as the Clowns are well-fed, they should leave the shrimp alone. Now, once the Clowns have tasted an Amano shrimp, they will probably go after it on a more frequent basis.

I keep amano and rcs with several clown loaches. They have been sharing a heavily planted tank for several years. The 6 amanos are always going about their business and the rcs populations keeps growing. The clowns start at two inches and now are 4+. The clowns were housed there for the abundant mtses and a pond snail outbreak. I figured they would be food at this point, but everything seems ok IMO.
