Hello amazing people of AC! :headbang2:

I picked this one out from the ghost shrimp feeder tank and I was wondering if someone here can help me identify this gorgeous creature? ;D

this one is currently living in my 10 gallon tank no heater but filtered and living with 7 feeder white cloud minnows, one big ram snail, a few mts snails. It's been triming my java moss because I see small pieces of java moss scatter on the substrate after adding the crayfish. It's been in my tank for two weeks with no fish loss.

So far it has molted once and sorry for the photo, I used my phone's camera
Can someone share with me a caresheet info on this one please?

Thank you so much for your time people of AC!

It should be almost two inches.
I feed it flakes and frozen blood worms.
It hides most of the time and is very quick when it sees me approaching the tank.
Temp stays between 72 during the day and 68 at night.

I can't give you a proper name for this guy but I would keep him on his own. If you haven't lost any fish yet, you will. He will get them at night when the fish settle to the bottom and he is wide awake. I have kept many crayfish in tanks on their own with their average lifespan being between 2.5 to 3 years. When I say,..."keep them in a tank of their own"... I mean "alone". They will kill or maime other crayfish as well, unless they are in a large tank with plenty of hiding places.

Definitely a Cambarellus species, probably C. schuhfeldti. Very peaceful as far as Crays go. If you find it eating a fish you can bet he found it dead or dying. Your temps are excellent, diet is ok but more variety is better. Any meaty food will be happily accepted.

Sweet

Thank you both for the helpful info!
I will be rehoming it in a 5 gallon with some diy caves and some java moss that he loves to trim haha
I will look into getting more meaty foods for it.
