I have three male convicts in a 55 gallon tank. Can i put anything else in there with them?
Do you have a mated pair? You should be able to put some other cichlids in there also, like firemouths and such.

I had a mated pair but the female died. The fish are the father and two of the offspring.

As long as there is no female present they are very easy going fish. I have kept male convicts with my Lake Victorian african cichlids successfully. They should also get along with almost any central american cichlid about the same size as long as they are not breeding pairs. When central american cichlids breed, they pretty much want the tank to themselves.

IMO i would say firemouth,acaras,sev's to name a few. Just stay away from peaceful cichlids. Convicts can be pretty mellow but they are still a semi-aggressive species. Maybe a jd, maybe.
