So my betta has velvet. I put copper sulfate drops in the water, but now it's time for the bi-weekly water change. Is it safe for me to put my arms in the water with the copper in it?

I believe copper sulfate can be a major irritant to skin, but I doubt that it is at a concentration high enough to be an issue. Rubber gloves are always an option if you want to play it safe.

I imagine you would be fine. Just wash your hands real well after.

Reach right in there and don't worry about it. You'll get a burning sensation long before your arm falls off.

Unless you're an invertebrate, of course.

I've had that stuff splashed on my skin in chemistry lab and I'm still around 15 years later with no verified long term effects (although my partner swears I have brain damage from somewhere). Unless you have a medical reason that dictates an aversion to copper, then you should be fine.
