Okay so I'm looking to add a dwarf cichlid or two to my 30 gallon tank. So far I've got a black ghost knife fish, a peacock eel, 2 Dwarf Gouramis, a silver tipped shark, and a small angelfish. I'm looking to make the tank as vibrant and bright colored as possible, so the brighter the fish the better. I'm probably gonna get rid of the catfish to make room for the cichlids if needed. Any suggestions on what to get? Even peaceful non cichlid suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks much!

Ummmmm ditto on what they suggested. Just so you know though your tank is over stocked already. They need a bigger home. Just thought ide let you know.

Yeah you are overstocked as it is. The black ghost knife will get to be over a foot long. The shark will be twice as big. Both need to be rehomed before adding more fish. You have too many fish at the bottom of the tank where a dwarf cichlid would want to make it's home. There isn't enough territory.

+1 for getting rid of the knife, shark and I would say also the eel. Not only are you overstocked, but you are under-equipped to responsibly keep fish of that size unless you have a big tank for them to move to. Once they're gone, you could keep a pair of rams, apistorammas, and kribs. Also check out keyhole cichlids, though as with most cichlids, they can get a bit nippy when they are breeding.
