I use warmer temperatures and a salt addition for the first couple of days. This is generally frowned upon though, so maybe you want to try something else. There are a lot of different methods I have heard of, I am sure people here will be of more help than I can offer (Ive only dealt with a few cases). For the ghost you might want to raise the temp very slightly. I think Ich can survive high temps, but i have noticed the fish seem more comfortable when I do this. Just a little something to aid it, there are meds too but i have never used them. Ridich+ is a good one, and make sure to do water changes as well. Watch for stress, and i think the span for ich is 8? days or so. And the 20g might be a tad small for the 6'', but thats your call-it could be fine. Best of luck.

Raise the water temperature (slowly) to 85F and add one tablespoon of salt per 10g and see how it goes.

Can you tell us your water perameters?, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate? Water change schedult and feeding schedules? How long have you had the fish?

I believe knife's are scaleless, correct? if so, I would highly recommend jungle's "ich guard II" which is specifically made for scaleless fish. I've lost tetras with every other ich medication except the "ich guard II". Kyle
