Well, the skimmer has been operating in my sump for just over a month now, and I still have only needed to rinse out the cup twice.
Does anyone else have issues with this skimmer not making a lot of foam?

I have my collection cup all the way to the bottom, to get the most foam/protein out of my tank, and I still dont get a lot. I know that keeping the cup low will give me more liquid than foam, but if I raise the cup, the bubbles done make it to the top of the cylinder and I get nothing in the cup!

I am running a Mag drive 3 (350GPH) pump on the skimmer, and I have a 90G FO tank, so I am assuming that I am running enough water through the skimmer. I also have normal salinity. I do have a ton of small bubbles in teh lower portion of the skimmer, so I think the spray injector is functioning correctly.

I have also tried rinsing the skimmer in hot tap water to remove the oils from the factory, but how long is the break in supposed to take?

Any thoughts?

Better wuestion--how much waste is available? If you don't have a lot of waste available, there isn't much for it to pull out. Sorry, can't really offer any ideas, but if your tank is lightly stocked and fed, you probably won't have a lot of scum to pull out.

That is a really good point....
I was hoping to pull out a ton of wast as I had fairly high nitrates, plus my tank is well stocked...in a 90 G i have:
3 Percula CLowns
2 Yellow tail damsels
1 royal gramma
1 yellow tang
1 blue hippo tang
1 yellow tailed angel fish
1 threadfin butterfly

I have been doing a healthy amount of water changes lately due to an ich issue that is now corrected...perhaps the new water just isn't supplying the skimmer with enough protein to skim out...

I cant wait to have a dirty tank so my skimmer will create a lot of foam.

thanks for your reply Oriongirl!
