so as I looked into my tank this morning, I noticed eggs on one of my plants leaves! The only thing in the tank that lays eggs are the green corydoras I have, so it's got to be them! Anyone have tips on how to succesfully hatch and raise the fry? Will corys try to eat their fry? Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

I had to take my corys eggs out of the tank because the other fish had already munched most of them down. I put some tank water in a container, floated the container in the aquarium, put an air stone in the container and a couple days later I had 7 baby corys. Their still alive today. I'd recommend getting a live plant that has some algae on it for them to eat off of. That's what I did and then after about a week I got Hikari first bites. After about a month I started giving them a shrimp pellet. Good luck. Oh and I used a my visa to scrape off the eggs.

I went out to mini golf with my girlfriend today, and when I got back it was too late =( I didn;t realize other fish would eat the eggs, and either my tetras or other cories got em =( Maybe the pair will lay more soon, and I will be prepared this time!

That sucks, primarily my betta and the snails were munching on my eggs but really any fish is capable of eating the eggs.

Don't worry. Like Doritos-- Keep crunching- they'll make more. I have at least two spawnings a month of my corys. I just have difficulty raising the fry once they hatch. Better luck next time! :)

I can't get my corys to spawn again and I've tried. The one time they did spawn it was right after I had to take down my 55gal to move in and they sat in unheated water for a couple hours and when I got the tank set back up I put them in it and the next day their were eggs. Only thing I've changed to that tank what I increased the filtration. What did you try and feed your cory fry somervell?

I used a fry product from Ken's fish-- golden pearls. Mimics baby brine shrimp-- it's a really gross, orangy powder. I started this on day three, but they were in with some moss, so they should have been fine. Not sure what the problems have been. The parents must be happy. I used a floating breeder box near an airstone both times.

Yeah I'm not sure Somervell. Maybe they were just too weak. When they hatched I stuck a piece of sprite in the container that had algae all over it. My 7 fry are getting so big now. I let them into a large fry tank I have except one fry that I kept in a nursery net, still needs some growing.

I had taken some photos of my fry before I released them into the fry tank the other day, their so cute!

im having great luck raising cory fry in a ten gallon with a thin layer of sand. i cant be home all day to do the numerous feedings and water changes necessary to keep them in a bare bottom tank. the sand lets them sift all day long. however, it has to be mature sand; can't just dump it in from a bag. the sand i use is from the parents' tank. there are also some plants and a piece of driftwood. i leave most of the glass a little dirty. they eat crushed flake, algae wafer, shrimp pellet and my home made loach food. i figure once they hit the 90 day mark, they can move into my 55.
