I want as much help as i can get and i have posted my questions on another forum and i figure the more people to help the better. I need a awnser QUICK as money is only there for a limited time. This was my first post in the other forum. The species of fish is mogurnda mogurna if you were wondering.

"Well my Mogurnda Mogurnda has white on his eyeballs. I mean his eyeball is not cloudy it is on the surface of his eyeball. I have 4 catfish in the tank with him, so i assume it is a fungus. I thought it was strange as i have not put anything in the tank for atleast 6 months. So my plan of actions is pimafix, i wanted to run it by you guys first. My only other question is after medicating can i use the filter on my main tank still or switch it to any other tank?"

But now i am not sure weather to med the tank with pimafix or phenoxethol? It is only a small patch ON his eyeball so i need to act fast. I need med options quick.

ABOVE is the thread and you can see most of the questions and suggestions there. Please help i am going crazy.

Doubtful it's a fungus. Bacterial cause is much more likely. Antibiotics are indicated if you want to medicate. Often an infection like that can be cleared by improving water quality and diet if you catch it early enough. If you want to medicate my first choice would be either a Furan or a Sulfa-based agent. API Furan 2 or Triple Sulfa are probably the most widely available of these.

But if it is a bacteria would it not be growing on the eye and be in the eye? I am gonna start with doing a every other day water changes and i feed carnivore pellets from hikari.

What are the parameters (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate) of the water?

The link is not working for me.

Any chance you can get a pic?

I agree with Sub that it is likely bacterial over fungal. Fungus is usually a secondary infection.

I will check parameters tomorrow but remember they wont be accurate to what they were before as i just did a water change. I should have mentioned i was gone for a month so the water changes were down for atleast a little more then a month (had to have someone take care of them for me).

I will get a pic when i can as my camera cant take upclose photos cause it stinks.

Ok, if it is both WHAT SHOULD I DO. The day for no money is coming soon.

OMG, i think i found a pic online with a mogurnda mogurnda with the same issue.

If you see almost white on the surface of the fishes eye, but it dosent seem natural, almost like it might be in the way of his vision.

here is the link

EDIT: Tired just loading the image but it didnt want to work on this site. It is on the other site towards the end.

Yup. That's bacterial, or injury, or both. Definitely, definitely, can I say again definitely, NOT fungus.

So what should i do. I have been keeping fish for a LONG time but i have little experience with meds. What to do? And does that mean my other fish are in danger of caching anything? 2 corys, and 2 upside down cats.
